The Washington, DC Internship Program is aimed at current undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students interested in the opportunity to work amongst the government, think tanks, and NGO community. Internships in the Washington, D.C. office include US Advocacy, Media, Information Technology, and Regional Program directives. Internships are offered during the fall, winter/spring, and summer sessions with training provided towards the beginning of each period. The duration of internships can range from a minimum of 3 months to 6 months and longer. Washington-based interns interact with Crisis Group staff from all over the world and have the opportunity for in-depth learning in particular areas, as well as broad exposure to the DC policymaking community.
All applicants must have prior experience in a professional office setting as well as excellent writing, research, organizational, and computer skills. Positions are unpaid with a modest stipend and require a commitment of three months full-time (or the part-time equivalent at a minimum of 25 hours/week). Candidates must attend and start working in accord with the Training Schedule below:
