Crisis Group’s Jakarta-based team reports and recommends policy on Indonesia's political developments, the development of regional autonomy, separatist struggles in Aceh and Papua, communal violence and the role of radical Islam with a particular focus on Jemaah Islamiyah.  Crisis Group's work in Myanmar has focused on the military government, the opposition, ethnic minorities and the role of the international community in encouraging a transition to democracy.
