Alçay joined Crisis Group in 2016 as office manager of the Istanbul office. Since 2022, she has been working as an administrative officer. Before joining Crisis Group, she worked as a translator in the courthouse of Ankara.  Alçay holds a degree in English Language and Literature from Ankara University and has a functional command of Dutch and German.
