Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif spoke with his Russian and Qatari counterparts discussing the “ongoing efforts to establish reconciliation and political consensus” in Afghanistan. The Following day, Zarif talked to Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah “as part of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s attempts to help stabilise the political situation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the launch of intra-Afghan negotiations”. According to an Iranian readout, Zarif also shared the result of “his latest regional and international consultations over Afghanistan”.
