The USS Stennis, a U.S. aircraft carrier, sailed through the Strait of Hormuz en route to the Persian Gulf. Media reports indicated that "IRGC vessels shadowed the Stennis and its strike group, at one point launching rockets away from it and flying a drone nearby". However, an Iranian naval official subsequently maintained that "shooting rockets... is a blatant lie".
