The commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command met with the GCC secretary-general, conferring on “maritime collaboration for ensuring the free flow of global commerce in and near critical regional waterways”. According to a GCC readout, the secretary-general “emphasised that the matter of maritime security is a top priority within the framework of the strategic partnership with the U.S.”.
