A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed an attack “against U.S. forces at Erbil airbase in Iraq that was unsuccessful. No casualties, some minor damage to infrastructure”. He further said that the groups that had been targeting U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria were “affiliated with Iran”, while reporting the deployment of around 900 additional U.S. troops to the Middle East.
