Foreign Minister Yair Lapid announced that “following the events of recent weeks in Turkey and after a series of attempted Iranian terrorist attacks against Israelis on vacation in Istanbul, we call on Israelis not to fly to Istanbul”, adding: “These terror attacks… have intentionally chosen Israeli citizens in order to kidnap them or kill them… It’s a real and immediate danger”. He further warned Iran: “Whoever harms Israelis will pay. We will find them, no matter where they are”. The following day, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett indicated that “in recent days, we have witnessed attempts to harm Israelis in various destinations abroad… Israel’s security forces are doing everything to thwart these attacks and to neutralise the attackers and their operators. We will not hesitate to use the power of the State of Israel anywhere in the world, for the protection of our citizens”.
