Prime Minister Yair Lapid expressed to Germany’s chancellor “Israel’s opposition to a return to the nuclear agreement, and the need for Europe to send a clear and unequivocal message that there will be no more concessions to Iran… Europe must oppose Iran buying time in negotiations”. Meeting the U.S. ambassador and a senior member of congress the same day, Lapid asserted: “the time has come to walk away from the table. Anything else sends a message of weakness to Iran… Now is the time to sit and talk about what to do going forward in order to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon”.
