Syrian state media reported Israeli airstrikes against “some sites in the city of Homs and its countryside”, wounding five soldiers and causing material damage. Also, Israel’s military confirmed downing a drone, assessed to be Iranian, that entered Israeli airspace from Syria. In comments the same day, Defence Minister Gallant contended that “we have tensions on all fronts. The Iranians are extending their outreach to Judea and Samaria and Gaza, and are attempting to entrench themselves in Syria and Lebanon. We will not allow the Iranians and Hizbollah to harm us. We have not allowed it in the past, we won’t allow it now, or anytime in the future”. “If necessary”, Gallant warned, “we will push them out of Syria to where they belong – and that is Iran”.
