Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told the UN General Assembly that “Iran seeks to dominate the region, and seeks to do so under a nuclear umbrella”. Contending that “Iran’s nuclear weapon program is at a critical point”, Bennett insisted that “words do not stop centrifuges from spinning”, and declared: “Iran is much weaker, much more vulnerable than it seems… If we put our heads to it, if we're serious about stopping it, if we use all our resourcefulness, we can prevail”. The same day, Israel’s UN ambassador indicated that “the international community and Americans are starting to talk to us more about a plan B on Iran… If Iran doesn’t return [to the deal], this changes the whole picture for the world”. Iran’s UN ambassador riposted that Bennett’s remarks were “full of lies”, while a deputy warned that “Iran does not hesitate at any time to defend itself against any threat”.
