Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil asserted with respect to the U.S. sanctions that "we reject these punitive measures whether they're against Iran or Syria... however, Lebanon complies with all international procedure regarding financial transactions". He also indicated, with respect to sanctions against Hizbollah, that "there are effects [for Lebanon] but we have the ability to adapt and we have adapted with reality, and I think we managed to overcome this".
