Hizbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah posited that the U.S. move to blacklist the IRGC "shows that U.S. audacity and folly went beyond limits". He added that "until now we have only settled with condemnation, denouncement, patience and managing the situation calmly in the face of sanctions and terror lists, but our patience does not mean that we, the axis of resistance, do not have cards of strength". Nasrallah also opined that discussion of U.S. sanctions against Lebanese allies of Hizbollah "so far... remains an intimidation campaign".
