During a visit to Lebanon, Iran’s foreign minister expressed to the caretaker prime minister “Iran’s support for stability of Lebanon and its support for the Lebanese government, nation, resistance and army”, insisting that “Lebanon’s problems, including the election of its president and the completion of the political process in the country, should be handled and resolved by the Lebanese themselves”. Separately, he conferred with his counterpart on bilateral relations including Iran’s readiness “to work with Lebanon toward solving its energy and electricity crisis”. He also travelled to the Israel-Lebanon border, where he opined that “Lebanon’s resistance proved that the Zionists only understand the language of force and that resistance is the most important option that has brought security, comfort and preservation of territorial integrity to Lebanon”.
