The Israeli military reported Hizbollah mortar and missile fire, to which it responded by targeting the sources of the attacks as well as Hizbollah “military infrastructure”. It also struck a cell that were allegedly preparing to launch rockets against a northern Israeli town. The same day, Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister remarked that “I am doing my duty to prevent Lebanon from entering the war… For now, Hizbollah has managed the situation rationally and wisely, and the rules of the game have remained constrained to certain limits”. “But at the same time… I cannot reassure Lebanese”, he added. “I cannot rule out an escalation because there is a race to reach a ceasefire before escalation spreads in the entire region”.
