Asked whether the U.S. sensed a decrease in threats to U.S. forces in the region and maritime security, a Pentagon spokesperson stated: “I wouldn’t know that I’d make an assessment on temperature dropping. We continue to see harassment. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen harassment from IRGC-backed groups over commercial ships... We have not seen that threat drop, I would say, so we haven’t seen a reason to move our forces out”.
