CENTCOM confirmed striking “an Iranian-backed Houthi UAV ground control station and ten Houthi one-way UAVs” assessed to be “an imminent threat to merchant vessels and the U.S. Navy ships in the region”. The same day, U.S. forces intercepted a “UAV over the Gulf of Aden” and “destroyed an Iranian-backed Houthi explosive uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) in the Red Sea”. CENTCOM also reported that “two anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen likely towards the M/V Koi in the Red Sea.
