The U.S. Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook, indicated that “we have called upon governments and the maritime community to deny passage of any Iranian oil tankers, to deny them docking privileges… if you are a crew member or a captain on a vessel moving Iranian that has been – then you are subject to criminal and immigration consequences”. He further remarked that “we’re tracking the movements of all Iranian oil tankers because… the Iranian regime uses oil to fund its malign activities and to support its terrorist operations around the Middle East, and it’s important for nations to take that threat seriously”.
