The Justice Department charged a former counterintelligence officer with "espionage on behalf of the Government of Iran", as well as four Iranians whom it said were "acting on behalf of the IRGC".  Relatedly, the Treasury Department sanctioned "an Iran-based entity that organises international conferences that supported the IRGC Qods force's efforts to recruit and collect intelligence from foreign attendees... and four associated individuals". It also "designated a separate Iran-based entity and six associated individuals involved in the targeting of current and former U.S. government and military personnel as part of a malicious cyber campaign".
