Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on “nations to urge the UN Security Council to renew the arms embargo on Tehran. We can’t allow the world’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism to buy and sell weapons. I mean, that’s just nuts”. He further argued that “this isn’t about the JCPOA… we’re going to do everything that we can within our diplomatic toolset to ensure that that arms embargo doesn’t expire”.
