A statement by NATO governments approvingly noted ongoing negotiations aimed at reviving the JCPOA, adding that “it is vital that Iran preserves the space for these discussions by avoiding any further escalation”. It went on to “condemn Iran’s support to proxy forces and non-state armed actors”, and also urged Tehran “to stop all ballistic missile activities inconsistent with UNSCR 2231, refrain from destabilising actions and play a constructive role in fostering regional stability and peace”.
