Responding to a question regarding U.S. citizens held in Iran, Secretary Pompeo stated that "we are engaged every day... in working to return every U.S. citizen who is either wrongfully detained or a hostage somewhere around the world. That certainly includes Bob Levinson and all those that are being held by the Iranian regime. We are determined to get them back". Pompeo went on to say that "we're not going to pay a price for their return, but we are prepared to work with all those who can assist us in getting those Americans returned to their families and... our country".
