The U.S. announced that it was "offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of the global terrorist organisation Lebanese Hizbollah". National Security Advisor John Bolton characterised the move as "another example of how the U.S. is continuing to expand the scope and scale of our maximum pressure campaign against Iran and its proxies".
