Secretary of State Mike Pompeo contended that “people all across the world, certainly American people, recognise that returning to that failed policy of appeasement [toward Iran] presents real risk to the U.S.”, adding “more money in the hands of the ayatollahs can’t possibly lead to more freedom, more security for the American people, or, frankly, more safety for the people of Israel as well. And so we will stay hard at it”.
