Asked about U.S. policy towards Iranian opposition groups, Secretary Pompeo remarked that "our view is that we support you, the Iranian people. We don't pick a particular group, we have no intention of deciding who shall govern in Iran. What we want is a country where the people speak, where there's an opportunity for you to get the government that you want and that you deserve. And to hold real, free, fair elections at every level". "What we're looking for", Pompeo added, "is a process by which the Iranian people can have their voices heard and a change in the direction of the Iranian regime".
