Following Iran's 16 July complaint to the International Court of Justice regarding U.S. sanctions, the ICJ dispatched an "urgent communication" to the U.S. secretary of state, Mike Pompeo. According to President Rouhani, the court "explicitly told the U.S. that they have no right to do anything until Iran's complaint is looked into".
