National Security Advisor John Bolton appeared on Fox News to respond to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif's interview with the channel, which Bolton described as a "carefully prepared propaganda script by the Iranians". He asserted that the U.S. maximum pressure campaign was "working and I think that what they're [i.e the Iranians] worried about". Asked for his views on regime change in Iran, Bolton replied that "the people of Iran... deserve a better government. There's absolutely no doubt about it. The trouble is, it's not just a theological dictatorship. It's the military dictatorship too. That's a very difficult circumstance. We'll see what happens as the economic pressure continues to grow".
