The head of the U.S. Air Forces Central Command assessed that “our increased air presence, but more importantly the increased presence of surface vessels… combined with our air power has deterred Iran from taking any actions against maritime shipping… My hope is that they’ve seen that message and that they remain deterred over the longer term”.
