As the White House authorised a $195 million overhaul of Saudi missile defence systems, a U.S. diplomat underscored that "Saudi Arabia has been an important partner for the U.S. in curbing the malign behaviour of Iran, who is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, and the source of the growing ballistic missile threat to our regional partners".
