Secretary of State Antony Blinken conferred with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on “regional challenges, such as the threat posed by Iran”, highlighting “the U.S.’s ironclad commitment to Israel’s security”. According to an Israeli readout, Netanyahu “expressed his appreciation for the military and intelligence cooperation between Israel and the U.S., which is at an all-time peak”, while asserting that “returning to the nuclear agreement with Iran won’t stop the Iranian nuclear program and that no arrangement with Iran will obligate Israel, which will do everything to defend itself”.
