The Treasury Department announced sanctions on three “key Hizbollah political and security figures leveraging their privileged positions to facilitate Hizbollah’s malign agenda and do Iran’s bidding”. Secretary of State Pompeo commented that “today’s sanctions against senior Hizbollah officials are part of the U.S.’ effort to counter Hizbollah’s corrupting influence in Lebanon”.
