Maya joined Crisis Group in 2022. As the UN Analyst she is responsible for monitoring developments at the UN Security Council, shaping advocacy by liaising with diplomats and UN officials, and contributing to UN-related research.

Professional Background

Maya's professional experience has centered on advocacy related to issues of international peace and security. She has focused primarily on issues related to multilateral institutions, WPS and peacebuilding. Previously, she has worked or interned at the U.S. State Department, U.S. House of Representatives, the Alliance for Peacebuilding, Peace Corps and Search for Common Ground. Maya holds a Master’s degree from Oxford University and a Bachelor’s from the University of Arkansas.
