Bahrain’s foreign ministry confirmed reports that an Israeli military officer would be posted in the country, as “part of arrangements related to an international coalition that includes more than 34 countries”. A U.S. official noted that the appointment was “about keeping the lines of communication open” between Israel and U.S. forces headquartered in Manama.
