Crisis Group Welcomes Sandra Breka to its Board

The International Crisis Group is thrilled to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board of Trustees. The Board plays a pivotal role in guiding Crisis Group’s global mission of preventing, mitigating and resolving deadly conflict.

Sandra Breka is CEO of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Since joining the Board of Management in 2017, she spearheaded the foundation’s strategic realignment. She is responsible for the Global Issues funding area including the foundation’s work on Peace, Climate Change, Democracy, Inequality, Migration and Immigration Society as well as Strategic Partnerships and the Robert Bosch Academy. Sandra Breka is a Member of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) as well as the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Munich Security Conference as well as the Board of the Berghof Foundation. Before joining the Robert Bosch Stiftung, Sandra Breka among others worked at the Aspen Institute Berlin and the American Council on Germany in New York. After studies in Germany, France and the United States, she obtained her M.A. at Columbia University in New York. She was a Yale World Fellow in 2008.

She has a wide range of knowledge and experience in global issues, foundations and strategic partnerships”, said Crisis Group’s Co-Chair of the Board Frank Giustra. “Crisis Group will only be strengthened with the addition of Sandra to our Board and we look forward to our new collaboration”.

With the latest additions, the Board now consists of 45 individuals from around the globe.
