The U.S.-led counter-ISIS coalition confirmed that “coalition forces at Erbil AB [Airbase] were attacked by two unmanned aircraft systems”, adding: “Force protection counter measures were used to defeat the drones. One UAS impacted inside perimeter; one UAS impacted outside perimeter” with no casualty or damage. An unnamed U.S. official said that the drones were Iranian-made.
