Foreign Minister Yair Lapid contended that “the Iranian nuclear issue needs to return to the UN Security Council and all sanctions need to be reactivated… This is the next step in the diplomatic struggle against the Iranian nuclear program. The previous steps failed, and the IAEA decision says that they failed”. He further maintained that “the American decision not to remove the definition of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terror organisation is a victory of Israeli diplomacy”, while acknowledging that Israel and the U.S. had “a fundamental disagreement”, adding: “They still think the JCPOA is the right thing and we don’t… We want to isolate Iran in the international arena. We have tools, both multilateral and with the Americans”.
