Israel’s head of military intelligence, discussing anti-government protests in Iran, assessed that “as the pressure on Iran increases, including internal pressure, the Iranian response is much more aggressive, so we should expect much more aggressive responses in the region and in the world”. He also tallied “including cyberattacks, around 100 operations that the Iranians carried out” in 2022, and warned: “The moment is coming when the greatest test of the international community will come to light, when Iran entertains enrichment at 90 per cent, even if only symbolically”.
