Veena joined Crisis Group in September 2021 as a member of the MENA team based in Istanbul. Veena assists the Senior Analyst for Yemen in conducting extensive research into prevailing issues in Yemen. She is researching how the fighting in different areas of control affects the lives of ordinary people physically, politically and economically.

Professional Background

Veena previously worked at Mercy Corps, where she was a humanitarian analyst focused on Yemen. She has also worked with Search for Common Ground and the Economist Intelligence Unit.
