As Crisis Group's Senior Analyst for Sudan, Shewit is responsible for conducting research and analysis on the country’s prevailing peace, security and governance issues and proposing solutions to prevent or mitigate conflict in the country.

Before joining Crisis Group in November 2022, Shewit worked as a Researcher for the African Peace and Security Governance Program of the Institute for Security Studies. Prior to that, she was the Programme and Communications Advisor with the Life & Peace Institute’s Horn of Africa Regional Programme.
