Professional Background Deirdre joined Crisis Group in June 2022 from De La Salle Academy, where she served as Director of Development. She has worked in NY fundraising for many years and, prior to her career in development, Deirdre spent ten years working in international human rights specialising in post-conflict resolution. Her work in Northern Ireland and Bosnia led her to be selected as one of the “24 Emerging Leaders” in conflict resolution and peacebuilding by the Washington Ireland Program in partnership with the U.S. Department of State. She was a speaker on many panels during her legal career, including War Crimes Trials: Lessons for the Future at New York University Law School. Deirdre has lived in Atlanta, Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Galway, London, Minneapolis, and Sarajevo. Deirdre graduated from the State University of Albany with a B.A. in Political Science, holds a J.D. from the City University of New York Law School and an LL.M in International Human Rights Law from the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University Ireland, Galway.
