Berkay Mandıracı joined Crisis Group in June 2015. As Senior Analyst, Türkiye, Berkay leads or contributes to research, publication of reports and conducting advocacy on issues such as migration management, jihadist militancy, armed non-state actors, tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean, Türkiye-EU relations as well as conflict dynamics in northern Iraq and northern Syria.

Previously, Berkay worked for the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) covering judicial and security sector reform issues, and for a joint EU-Turkish Justice Ministry Twinning project aimed at improving the efficiency of Turkish court proceedings. Berkay holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Bremen in Germany and is currently pursuing a PhD degree in International Relations at Bogazici University in Istanbul.
