Iran’s diplomatic spokesperson indicated that “there have been occasional developments at our borders [with Afghanistan], but the borders have been calm during this period... We have tried to send the message that Iran’s borders must remain calm”. He further reiterated that “the Taliban are part of the future of Afghanistan… we are committed to facilitating these negotiations [between Afghan parties], and everybody’s voice should be heard”.
