Presenting the thirteen biannual report on Security Council Resolution 2231’s implementation, the UN under-secretary-general noted that the organisation had examined “the debris of nine ballistic missiles, six cruise missiles and several UAVs used in various attacks by the Huthis against the territories of Saudi Arabia and the UAE since 2020”. “We also assessed these missiles and/or parts thereof to be of Iranian origin”, she reported, adding: “We have not been able to determine when the ballistic missiles or parts thereof may have been transferred from Iran”. The U.S. told the Security Council that it “strongly condemns these attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Iran’s continue proliferation of weapons to its proxies and partners in the region must stop”.
