The President of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region concluded a visit to Tehran after meeting with senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to a Kurdish readout, during a meeting with the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the two sides conferred on “the security situation and the cooperation and coordination between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region for maintaining peace and stability”, with Barzani highlighting that “the Kurdistan Region… will never be a source of threat to any party”.
