Prime Minister Yair Lapid remarked that Israel had “held a discreet and intensive dialogue with [the E3], and presented them with up-to-date intelligence information about Iranian activity at nuclear sites”, adding: “Israel is conducting a successful diplomatic campaign to stop the nuclear agreement and prevent the lifting of sanctions on Iran. It is not over yet. There is still a long way to go, but there are encouraging signs”. The following day, speaking alongside the German chancellor, Lapid opined that “it is time to move past the failed negotiations with Iran… Returning to the nuclear agreement, under the current conditions, would be a critical mistake”. Lapid further remarked that “there is another way… forward for the Middle East. It is the path of the Abraham Accords and the Negev Forum. A path based on a shared vision for the region. A vision not of war, extremism and terrorism but of peace, tolerance and cooperation”.
