The U.S. Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook, congratulated “the UK for announcing today that it has designated the entire Hizbollah organisation as a terrorist group and frozen its assets. There is no distinction between Hizbollah’s political arm and its military arm”. He further said that “when I was negotiating with the E3 on trying to fix the deficiencies of the Iran nuclear deal... this was a regular topic of the need to be designating Hizbollah in its entirety”. The next day, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz likewise welcomed the designation and described it as “a great achievement for Israel in the fight against Iran and its proxies”.
