The IDF announced that it had killed an individual described as “a senior terrorist in the Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organisation” with an airstrike in Lebanon, asserting that the operation was “carried out to cause a blow to the terror organisation’s abilities to advance and carry out terror acts that it has planned recently against the State of Israel in the northern border areas”. Hizbollah subsequently said it had fired a barrage of rockets at Israeli military targets in retaliation.
