Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, hailed Slovenia’s move “to recognise all branches of Hizbollah as a terrorist organisation”, and urged “the EU and other countries to recognise all branches of Hizbollah as a terrorist organisation”. The U.S. the same day welcomed a similar move by Latvia, adding: “The simple fact is that Hizbollah is a terrorist organisation, root and branch. The U.S. continues to call on all countries to take whatever action they can to prevent its operatives, recruiters and financiers from operating on their territories”.
