The U.S. designated “two Lebanon-based companies... for being owned, controlled or directed by Hizbollah”. According to the Treasury Department, “Hizbollah leverages Arch [Consulting] and Meamar [Construction] to conceal money transfers to Hizbollah’s own accounts, further enriching Hizbollah’s leadership and supporters and depriving the Lebanese people of much-needed funds”. An individual described as “a senior Hizbollah Executive Council Official” and linked to the two companies was also sanctioned.
