A White House official remarked that President Trump has "been clear on what he wants from Iran, and that is to end its destabilising efforts, its actions of being the world's largest state sponsor of terror. And he's been tough on Iran for that very reason... but as he said [on 30 July], that he does want to meet, he wants to come to a solution. And when we have an announcement, we'll let you know".
